This morning we had 25 cases, with 5 cases held over from last week. Of our new cases, two cases were placed on hold pending further information, and once case was denied due to long term instability in a family's housing situation. One of our cases involved a family of four with no financial support, with the oldest child requesting help to attend Warren Township Tech Campus.  Another case involved a homeless family with a domestic violence situation who needed legal support to receive work authorization.  We had 3 requests for portable cribs for infants, and an emergency request for clothing for a family that had a fire in their home last evening. Our grants totaled $2633.

We had two requests for cribs for newborns,  and provided clothing and hygiene products for a 17 year old boy who was living independently.

Today's meeting included 15 cases with 3 held over from last week.  We had over 10 attendees, with a new volunteer and an employee from the YWCA  joining us today. While our list was a bit smaller, the cases involved many large families with immediate needs.  One case would enable an 8 year old girl from a large family to be able to rent a violin and take violin lessons for the rest of the year.  Another was for a 17 year old girl who needs help with outstanding school fees and has recently lost her part-time job to be able to graduate on time. An emergent request  was for a family of 3 toddlers with a baby on the way who required new car seats.

Thank you to all who attended, and we will see you next Wednesday.

Today’s meeting included 18 cases with 7 held over from last week.  The list of new requests was relatively short this week, though we anticipate the number of cases to increase as the weather cools and the holidays approach.   We hope to see everyone at next week’s special nighttime service meeting, which will be held at 6pm on Wednesday, November 2nd.   For those who can’t make our regular morning meetings, we would love to see some new faces!  Also, a special thank you to Gail Strenger Wayne, Shields Township Supervisor, for joining us today.  We appreciate the Township’s continued support of and collaboration with Mothers Trust.

Today’s meeting included 19 cases with 5 held over from last week.  The list of service requests was shorter than in recent weeks but the stories were as compelling as always.   Thank you to those who braved the weather to join us!  Also, just a reminder that MTF Teens is collecting winter gear through October 31st for its 4th annual coat drive.  The coat drive is a very effective way to keep the kids of Lake County warm this winter and your donations are greatly appreciated.  Please check out the News or MTF Teens tab for drop-off locations.

Today’s meeting included 30 cases, with two held over from last week.  The cases raised some difficult questions this week and everyone’s input was indispensible.  We also had a great crowd to celebrate the birthday of our Executive Director, Cheri Richardson!  So thank you to those who attended, and we hope to see you in the coming weeks.

Today’s meeting included 32 cases, with 3 held over from last week.  We had a very large turnout this week including three representatives from ComEd’s Revenue Management Department.  They provided us with very helpful information about the company’s assistance and education programs, and we look forward to building a lasting relationship that will help both of our organizations better serve our clients.  We were also delighted to be joined by Linda Jedlicka, Executive Director of Lake County High School’s Tech Campus.  Tech Campus provides significant educational opportunities for high school students in Lake County and Mothers Trust plans to continue to offer its support to the campus’s students.
